Have you ever made a copy or sent a fax that contained your personal information? That fancy new multi-function digital device could be ratting you out every time you press the "Go" button. Depending on the settings when implemented, these fancy devices can be set to retain a digital image of everything that hits the glass. Don't believe me, check out the police department that's scrambling after CBS News bought an old copy machine and dumped the hard drive... doh! According to a local copier salesman less than 20% of their national customers opt to purchase security software that erases this data. Huh.
UPDATE: My stat was wrong. Updated from 40% to 20%...EEKS!
