"What the hell?" That's what I said tonight when my next door neighbor told me someone broke into his house last night while he and his wife were sleeping. The story goes that he forgot to lock a window downstairs. The thief ripped out the screen and threw it behind my shed. They then proceeded to crawl inside and rummage through the house until they came across the keys to their Hummer H2. They hopped in for a little grand theft auto.
The neighbor was admittedly frustrated because neither of his yippie dogs even made a peep and neither he nor his wife woke when the car started. He continued by telling me that the police indicated they had a hunch they would investigate and if they recovered his car they'd call. He had already taken off work so, realizing his stolen SUV was on empty, he decided to start driving around. He was able to find the car in a field where it had apparently done some off-roading until it ran out of gas. Unfortunately, the thief had taken his only key so after some more police time and a $200 locksmith later, he had a new key to his car. Sometime later, the police called him to the station. According to them, they approached a 16-year-old boy at a local school and, after a quick search, located the key to their SUV on his person. The detective said that juveniles typically keep the key as a trophy. Not so bright but good for the police. Well, the whole thing sucks. I'm glad they have that dumbass kid off the street. Unfortunately, the cops believe he had an accomplice but he won't give that person up. Great work little g, your homies will definitely give you 3 street cred points when you get out. Why don't you go steal a 40oz'er to celebrate?
All I can say is enjoy your time in the slammer as a juvenile then get your crap together. The city doesn't need another punk ass loser.
