Medgadget and Universal Health Care

Over at Medgadget they briefly talked about our country's first attempt at universal healthcare, or Medicare. As with many government funded programs it has turned into a black hole of funding with no evident scrutiny by the current administration. The question Medgadget asks, "Where Are Medicare Stories at BarackObama.com?" Oh, and why so much fear mongering from the administration that promised us hope. I've got this one... they promised hope. If you clothe people in a veil of fear you can simply remove it later, claiming that you fixed whatever they were supposed to fear. "Look, it's not scary any more. It's fixed!" Granted, you probably didn't do shit but you "gave hope". Politics is like watching a giant magic show that we paid a trillion dollars for.... tada!
