Friggin' W7MC Annoyance!

It's been raining here... a lot. It seems the last few days there've been more times we were under a severe storm warning than not. It was during the latest round of storms I found my new Windows 7 Media Center annoyance. It's more of a "who the hell designed this feature" issue than an annoyance. Let me set up the scenario. Severe weather approaches and the weather people send out a weather alert. The cable company picks this up either through electronic wizardry or elves and an alert signal is sent out through the cable signal. Windows 7 Media Center happens to be tuned to a weather channel since, uh, there's a lot of red and purple junk on the radar and here's where it gets really annoying. Media center stops the show, gives me a "all your tuners are in use" error full screen (btw, only 1 of the 3 were in use) and Microsoft fashion, the weather alert that's scrolling at the bottom of the screen is now in an annoying blue box at the center top of my show. I can't kill, move or acknowledge the message. Short of exiting 7MC and re-launching it's stuck.

Apparently, this has been around since he release candidate and others are annoyed by it too. It was so annoying that every time I tuned live tv, this popped up again as a permanent box on EVERY CHANNEL! Frick! Microsoft, if you happen to be listening there are two things you need to do with 7MC: (1) fix this error message bull$hiot and (2) add a feature to make the record buffer a recording. I mean, heck, it's already data since I can back up to the beginning of a paused show. Why does the recording start on live tv? FIX IT. Maybe we need to get Obama to give them a call. If he did, he could have another prime time speech about his top scientists and oil spills... oh, joy.
