Hacking an Insulin Pump
Good God, folks. Use friggin' encryption. According to the folks at Computer World, at last year's Black Hat conference, a researcher reverse engineered the wireless communication between an insulin pump and glucose monitor. He was able to manipulate the delivery rate of the pump to potentially cause a lethal dose to be administered. Now, that's friggin scary. Let's hope these manufacturers figure out how to get this squared away along with those who make pacemakers and defibrillators. I mean, we should really focus on this before we make them cloud connected and turn ownership over to Google.
